The Week in Review

Gee guys....what a week this was !!!!!!

We've been havin' some of the coldest temperatures that we've had in years so Gram felt it was necessary ta get out our coats......except we don't like ta wear coats.......so when she put the coats on us.....we just stood there....

Gram pushed me out onto the deck but I just stood there lookin' in the door wantin' back in again. Eric would like this coat....it's orange.....

Hey Eric...if ya want this coat I'll send it on over ta ya......

Now a lot has happened over the last week.......
We were awarded the Friends award by both Abby and Asta La Vista....
Thanks a bunch fer the honor....both of ya....

And while it has a bunch of rules attached ta it....we're gonna break 'em and just display it..I know....we're really bad.......

There was a miracle on the Hudson River in New York....when a very skilled US Airways pilot crash landed an airplane full of people inta the river without any casualties. The rescue had everyone glued ta their TVs fer hours.......

Then on Sunday....our very own Pittsburgh Steelers won the AFC Championship by beatin' the Baltimore Ravens 23 ta 14 in an action packed game right here in Heinz Field.....

They'll be playin' the Arizona Cardinals in the Super Bowl in Tampa Florida on Feb 1......that's less than 2 weeks away.......

Go Steelers !!!!!

Then on Tuesday January 20, 2009.....the US of A welcomed a new President and First Lady inta the White House. Meet President Barack Obama and his beautiful wife Michelle. We wish them the best and hope that the next 4 years will be the best for all of us......here and around the world.......

And last but not least.....we got Gram ta finally do some work around here......

When we get new toys.....we get too excited and don't really treat the toys nicely......of course it doesn't help that the doggie toy manufacturers make the toys with dissolving thread and material that melts in yer mouth 'n not in yer hand.....

So when we chew up the toys....Gram takes 'em and puts 'em in Doggie Toy Hospital til she can get around ta sewin' 'em back up again. We had bags 'n bags of 'em in the hospital and Gram finally sewed up one of the bags.......

It filled up our toy box ta the brim and we were excited ta see some of our favorite toys again....

See those toys with the plaid patches on' em ???? Gram put those on some of the holes we chewed inta them....

My Mom was all excited ta get ta pick from so many toys cause Gram always tells us that there are doggies all over the world that don't have any toys at all and that we should take better care of ours......but we just don't listen ta her at all.....

We all got ta get reacquainted with toys that have been packed away for months.....

If ya can believe it, the Cat in the Hat still has a squeaker in it that squeaks....but now I ripped off his tail and one of his ears....Gram says as long as no stuffin' is comin' out we can play with 'em...

This is one of our favorite toys from a couple Christmas' ago...it has several squeakers that still work...it's also good ta get yer head stuck inta.....

Now we want ta thank all of ya that stopped by ta see how we were after our "Fixit" surgery. We're feelin' fine now and since Gram burnt all the Dog Breedin' books, we don't even see anythin' around that reminds us of what we lost.

Gee we hope the next week is just as packed full of excitement....it will be hard ta top this one though.......

This is Dewey Dewster reportin' on a week in History......

Put it all together and it has been an amazing week! Yes, a miraculous week!

We're happy about the Steelers for you even though our human grandpa and brother were not too pleased to see the Eagles go down so ignominiously (Mom's word). Remember -- Mom and her side of the family are from Fill a Dell Fi Yeah.

Then there's the new President and his awesome family. No words can express how happy we feel and all our hopes for a renewal of what this country is all about.

But what really caught our attention was the your reaction to the coat: we do the same thing when faced with a sweater. The only thing to do: just stand there immobile and ask -- OK, what am I supposed to do with this unnatural thing on me? And how quickly can you remove it?

Lots of wirey love pals -- and oh yes, Mom asked us to ask your Gram: when will you be in the Sebring area? They are going to be traveling back from Tampa on February 19 or 20 and one of their possible routes home takes them very close.

What a historic week Dewey. I watched the new President and the miracle on the Hudson on TV with Mom. Snuggled close, cos brrrr, it's cold. Looks colder there pal.
Gee Dewey looks like you have one of those MAGIC ORANGE coats. I have one too specially made by Mrs Snitchbug. Would you belive it's REALLY magical. Makes you freeze like ...furever.Mom left the room once with me in my coat- came back about 15 minutes later and yeah, I was still standing in exactly the same position.Clever eh? How's it do that? I have a sweater in orange that doesn't have that effect at all...wagging weird eh?

Pawsome you got some toys back. Especially the new type that you wear round your neck. I'm wondering if you moved with that on?

Wiry wags, Eric xx

Yes, it has been a very exciting and fun week (except for the Iggles).

That is quite an impressive pile of newly repaired toys that you guys have. And your gram was kind enough to sit and sew all those. She's a keeper, guys!! Don't ever lose her.

Good luck to our new president and his family!

Good luck to the Steelers!

Hi Dewey. It has definitely been an eventful week. We watched so much TV, especially the inauguraton. It's great to be part of history in the making, eh?

Too bad you don't like your coat. I didn't like mine at first either but I got used to it. After a few tries, you won't even notice it's on. Boots? That's a whole other story. I refused to wear them. I sure hope Gram doesn't make you wear boots. If she does, just chew them off and eat them, or spit them out, whichever.

You sure aren't lacking for toys, are you? I love the patches on your toys. I think all toys should come with plaid patches on them. They look so much better!

I'm off to the USA this weekend for a show in Glens Falls, NY! A winter road trip - should be fun. I hope you have a fun weekend too.

xoxo

Happy and Little Bear send their greetings from Wyoming and wanted to say that they, too, will be rooting for the Steelers this Sunday and that they would much prefer to watch the game from your house, (mostly so they could play with that tower of toys).
