An Ear of a Tale

Welllllllll Hello Ta All Ya Bloggers.....

Gee, we hope ya all had a really Happy Easter.....cause the peepers 'round here sure did. Now as fer us....that's another story.....

Yep, Gram and Pap had a whole bunch of people here fer an Easter ham with all the trimmin's and everythin' was soooooo GOOD....

After dinner, we heard a noise in the back yard.

Why, it sounded like a twig crackin' and grass crunchin' 'n... someone actually walkin' around in OUR GRASS !!!!!
So we were at the door right away...tellin' Gram that we wanted out ta see what was what. NO ONE..... 'n we mean NO ONE is permitted ta walk around in our grass....I tell ya....anyone who does is headed fer trouble, fer sure.....

Outside we saw the likes of this bugger just loungin' around in our yard actin' like it belonged ta him !!!!! Nerve.....nerve.....nerve !!!!!

We were hopin' some gentleman would come along ta pick the bugger up by the ears 'n tell 'em that he made a terrible mistake venturin' inta our yard on such a Holy Day........
Why, we didn't want ta hurt 'em cause we knew that someone just like 'em came that very mornin' ta bring baby Parker an Easter basket full of goodies.... ('n fer some reason Gram thought she got a picture of Parker 'n his basket but she musta been dreamin' cause there ain't none)

So we just sat 'n watched 'em in awe..... 'n wished he woulda brought us a special basket just like Parkers.

But he didn't bring us any swell Easter basket.......

Nope, he sure didn't.......

He EARED US !!!!!!

Do ya hear me !!!!!

He EARED US......

ALL OF US !!!!!!

Yep....There we were mortified that on such a Special day when everyone else was gettin' colored eggs... 'n chocolate candy... 'n little toys.....

We were gettin' BUNNY EARS !!!!!

'N then we had ta sit there tryin' ta smile 'n look happy when we were just plain MISERABLE!!!!

Do ya see us SMILIN" in any of these pictures ???

DO YA ?????

I was tryin ta give Gram the evil eye so she would put away the camera and take off those silly ears...... but it didn't work....

Nope, she just kept snappin' away...... (too bad there aren't any pictures of baby Parker 'n Gram's pretty flowers)

My Mom says that when Gram goes ta bed tonight we're all going downstairs and find those ears 'n chew 'em all ta shreds.........

Here's hopin' none of ya suffered the same fate.....

This is Dewey Dewster reportin' on Easter....'n silly ears......

Hi, Dewey!
Are you saying that he dared to come into you yard and he did not bring you treats?? Yes, the nerve!
I can see you were not happy with the bunny ears but I have to tell you... you all look sooooo cute!
Happy Easter!
Kisses and hugs

We're not sure which is worse....your ears or Jake's nose!

You have to admit, though, you did look pretty cute.

But NO TREATS? There is something WRONG with that!
Very wrong.

Here's hoping Monday will be a day of reprieve.

You do look miserable. I sure hope there were yummers foodables involved in that most annoying photo shoot. What is up with the peoples? Now Momma wants to get me some ears so I can be like you guys.

we didn't get eared, but Teka got a flower head dress. If muzzer can ever get it on her, you may seem pictures.

We ear ya' How sad is that, taking advantage of our eternal cuteness to up the ante.

We didn't get eared, thank doG -- but we did get some treats when we went with the folks for an Easter brunch.

Photos larer.

And oh yes, since baseball season has begun, with memories of their game date -- Jake wanted to say hello to Asta Marie and tell her that he hopes they can still be friends, even though he has given his heart to the lovely Ms. Gabbi of the Dughallmoor beagles. It was just one of those things that happened at the Rainbowwow Room last month.

Awwww, you 3 look sooooo cute with your bunny ears! We get bunnies in our yard, all the time, but we can never catch them! Once, we thought we saw one as big as that man was holdin' up, but we only saw it once and it was gone! Even though the weather is colder in da'burgh, I bet you're all glad to be home!

For dog sake, Dewey, what was she thinking? The three of you look totally miserable and I don't blame you - no Easter eggs and then you gotta sit and pose like silly little rabbitdogs. Geesh! Mama thinks you all look "precious," but what does she know?

There's something auspicious about a bunny showing up in your yard at Easter time, even if he didn't bring you any eggs ...

Well, I'm certainly glad you're back. I've really missed you. And I sure hope you're having a better day today!

Oh yeah, my Papa takes me to his office on the days Mama works so I won't be alone (except last week when his office was being painted.)
There are other dogs there so I have a very good time. Am I lucky or what??

Hi guys!

Boy, that was the ultimate humiliation! Having to wear rabbit ears after being snubbed by the Easter bunny is just inexcusable. I hope that you get those bunnies good next time. And to think that they didn't even leave you one Easter bone! That is so unfair. I'd complain to the Better Bunny Bureau.

I friggin' love wabbits! My next door neighbors have some in their yard and I stalk them every day! I always wonder where their squeakers are! Lucky you, having some in your own yard!!!

Well I never - get outta ear.I never heard the like of it before. Hope you got lots of carrots treats for posing?Nibble nibble nibble num num num.

I missed the Easter bunnies in the park the other day..was half heartedly trotting after a duck and went straight past two rabbits only about a foot away. Never wished him even a good morning. Am I a disgrace to the wirey breed Dewey?

Oh my! You got eared! So funny and cute all at once...*grins* I guess this is a human thing..they think that it's fun to do stuff like that. But hey, at least we got some treats for being a good doggie, right?

I truly feel your pain. How humiliating. My Mom loves to humiliate me with silly hats and costumes around the holidays. I think it is a family tradition on my Moms side of the family.

Aw you guys looked cute anyway in those ears. If Bedlington ears stood up like that we'd look like bunnies I do believe! Anyway I hear that after June, rabbit ears won't work anyway and we'll all be digital! Oh, that's just for TV, sorry.. (heh heh)

Yes we have a new addition with little Ollie. He first came in early March from our breeder when he was 8 weeks old, and had to stay with a sitter while Josie and I went to Louisville for a week to do agility. Now he's back for good, learning to be a dog like us and having lots of fun. He's my mom's great-grandson so that makes me his great-grand-uncle? He's also Emmy's great-grand-nephew since she's a sister of his great-grandma. Josie is Emmy's grand-daughter and my head hurts trying to figure out THAT relation!

I'll let him talk a bit on my blog sometimes if he wants to. Right now he likes to chew my face and rip up things. He's 4 months old and Mom just loves him to pieces!

Who knows...the Easter bunny must've left those ears with Gram. She mightn't be the one to blame for your getting bunny-eared:) But the three of you look so cute and cuddly with those fluffy ears. Were you really so uncomfortable:)

So the holiday was fun:) These two took an off for Good Friday but Sundays are never-ever off for them. So I spent the day in my favorite arm-chair.
