Christmas brought us Santa Claus and Santa Paws.....

Why hello ta all !!!!

Did ya have a Merry Christmas ???? Did ya ?? Did ya ??? We sure did here. Why, we had visits from Santa Claus and Santa Paws too......

Santa Claus came and left off some stuff fer Gram....'n Pap....'n big bruvers Scott & Brian....'n big sister Heather.....but most of all he left stuff fer Baby Parker......

Pap had ta show the Christmas Tree ta Parker cause this is his first Christmas and he didn't really know what a Christmas tree was.

Santa Claus brought him some new books and he was readin' one with his Dad. Parker even knows how ta turn the pages cause he's gettin' ta be a big boy !!!!

He was havin' trouble openin' up his gifts 'n my Mom was ready ta help him get it open so he could play with it.

Then while we were sleepin' Christmas Eve, Santa Paws came 'n left us some packages....just special fer us ta open all by ourselves.

Mom knows how ta open packages real well cause she's been openin' 'em fer a few years now.

Toby got his new toy outta the package and he was squeakin' it like crazy !!!!

Mom got hers out too and she was goin' ta town on it.

I got mine out too and I was playin' up a storm.......

But I don't like ta share so much and I saw all the toys were so nice and I had ta have 'em all. So I just took 'em off Mom 'n Toby and then I had all three........I tell ya it was hard ta keep all 3 in my mouth.....fer sure.....

Gram 'n Pap tell me that I'm a brat fer sure.......but I wanted 'em all. Gram took 'em away 'n gave 'em back ta Toby 'n Mom.....bummer.......

We each got a bully stick too...Mom was havin' fun, fun, fun eatin' hers.......

Toby was havin' fun, fun, fun eatin' his.......
'N I was havin' fun, fun, fun eatin' mine too.....

Before I go I want ta introduce ya to my brother Cedric......he lives in Manhattan and on Long Island too. His Dad has an antique refinishin' business in New York and he got his picture in the December 2008 issue of Country Home Magazine. Cedric's Dad sent Gram this picture 'n Gram went out today 'n bought the magazine too so she can save it.
Meet my brother, Cedric Ebbitts......ain't he just beautiful ?????

Gee, Christmas was really a special day.......'n we hope that everyone had a really nice visit with their families and friends.....'n got lots of nice stuff too....

'N we're hopin' that 2009 is a much better year.......fer everyone......all over the world.....why, everywhere !!!!

Christmas is fer Reindeer....isn't it ??????

Well hello ta All....

We've been pretty busy here gettin' ready fer the Holiday. There's lots ta do before Christmas and the arrival of Santa Claus. We have ta get our stockings hung so we can get goodies in 'em.....I mean Santa is sure ta stop here with 3 such good doggies livin' here.

Gram and Pap went ta Aunt Carol's house fer an early Christmas dinner and baby Parker was there. He was playin' with his ball and practicin' ta be a major league ball player.

Then he was pretendin' ta be Beethoven playin' a piano and entertainin' everyone too.

But back at home Gram decided that we needed ta get some Holiday pictures taken. She had reindeer antlers and a Santa hat but she couldn't find all the antlers so we all had ta share the one she could find. Who wants ta be a reindeer when yer a Wire Fox Terrier ?????

I did not want ta have my picture taken at all.

I am not gonna look at that camera and smile........no siree.......

Well, maybe I'll just look at it once but not anymore....'n I'm not smilin' either.....

Ya can't get me ta co-operate....nope, I just do not like that flash at all....

Then they give me antlers.....why I'm not a reindeer.....no siree......I'm a Wire Fox Terrier.......I'm not smilin'......

So Gram put 'em on Mom... but she doesn't want any antlers.....Mom's not a reindeer....no siree.....she's a Mom....

She doesn't want ta look either........silly flash..........silly antlers.............silly Gram.......
Mom just looks the other way.......she doesn't want ta look right inta that silly flash.....geez it hurts yer eyes.......then along comes Toby........

Now Toby is much more co-operative.....why, he's even smilin' here.....can ya see his eyes ???? They seem ta have disappeared.....

Smilin' again....what's wrong with Toby ?????

Smilin' even more....he must be on drugs......
Now he's even laughin'.........Gram get him ta a doctor quick....he's not normal.....

Now can we go back ta playin' ????? This has ta be the silliest thin' that we ever did.......I tell ya I'm not smilin'.....I don't care if Toby wants ta smile all day.......I won't look either......And neither will Mom......we want ta go.....this is torture.....

Well, here we are lookin' a bit more normal and we all want ta wish ya all out there in Blogland
A Very
Merry Christmas

and A
Happy New Year

This is Dewey Dewster wishin' Christmas was already over and the Santa hat and antlers would disappear.......

Now..... Who's the Boss ?????

Hey guys.....

I need yer help here......

See that ?????
That's Toby's crate.....

Right now there's a nice soft crate pad in there besides a soft brown cover. There used ta be only a brown cover.

Ya know why ???

Cause Toby was a baby and sometimes he would have accidents in his crate....and the brown cover was easier ta wash than the crate pad woulda been.

But Toby's not a baby anymore and Gram and Pap said he needed ta have a nice soft crate pad like we both have in our crates.

But I didn't want him ta have a nice cozy crate like we have and I'm the boss......aren't I ????

So I went downstairs and got the pad outta the crate and brought it upstairs.

I really wanted ta rip it up and I was trying real hard ta do that too.....

I asked my Mom ta give me an extra set of teeth so we could destroy that nice soft pad.....

But Gram took it away from us and put it back in the crate. So I just went downstairs and got inta Toby's crate....

I'm sittin' here in Toby's crate til the crate pad is too old and torn and stinky fer Toby ta want ta use it anymore...

Isn't that a brilliant solution ta the problem at hand ????

Wonder what I do when it's time ta eat dinner ?????

Gee, I really wouldn't want ta miss dinner....
Can ya help me out ????

Should I come out ???

Or should I stay ????

My Mom is sittin' there thinkin' how dumb I am ta make such a fuss about a simple crate pad....

But I'm the boss and that's what Bosses do....

Am I right ????

This is Dewey Dewster who's very busy bein' the Boss....

Taday is also Pearl Harbor Day
On December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor without warning and the attack caused the United States ta declare war on Japan. We would like to remember all of those who fought and died in that battle and those that survived too.

In this Dec. 7, 1941 file photo, the battleship USS Arizona belches smoke as it topples over into the sea during a Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. With an eye on the immediate aftermath of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, thousands of World War II veterans and other observers are expected on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008 to commemorate the 67th anniversary of the devastating Japanese military raid. Window Watchin', Holidays and Candy Makin'

Hi Ya !!!!

Here I am on my throne lookin' down on all my subjects. But I just wanted ta share some of what has been goin' on around here the past week.

We love ta get up on Gram's cedar chest ta look out the bedroom window. Ya can see so much when yer so high up lookin' down ta the front street. There's my Mom checkin' out ta make sure there are no intruders about ta come in.

She's very intense when she's checkin' out the world below.

Now, from this perch, we can see the side alley. Ya know, people try ta come up that alley and get onta the front street. And me 'n Toby have ta tell 'em that we don't want 'em ta do that.

Sometimes my Mom gets cold and Gram covers 'er up so she's nice and cozy. She also likes ta use the people pillows fer her head. Doesn't she look comfy ???
Now here's baby Parker on Thanksgivin' Day. It was a bit cold that day and he was all bundled up in his Winter hat and coat. It looks ta me like he can't move at all with all those clothes on.
And here's what the diningroom table looked like on Thanksgivin' before all the guests sat down ta eat. Gram didn't take a picture once everyone was seated cause she was too busy gettin' things delivered ta the table. There were 9 of us eatin' here on Thanksgivin'.
Now that the Thanksgivin' crowd is gone, Gram had started makin' her Christmas candy. Here's some of what she had finished the other day. Chocolate covered pretzels, marshmallows, turtles, raisin clusters and peanut clusters and chocolate covered Oreos. Gram made additional varieties last night and has a few more ta make before it's all done.
Once all the candy is done, Gram makes up candy boxes fer all the people who look forward ta it every year. She always says it takes longer ta put together the boxes than it does ta make the candy. And now ya can't see the tablecloth anymore on the diningroom table cause the table is full of the chocolate candy. Good thing no one wants ta eat there again til Christmas.

Can ya believe we never get ta taste any of that chocolate ? None, nada.....no fair, I say......how can chocolate not be good fer doggies but be good fer the hoomans ????

Well, that's all fer now guys. We sure had a great week......hope yers was good too....

This is Dewey Dewster reportin' on our week in review........

Over the River and Through the Woods

Hello ta All,

We're about ta celebrate one of the best holidays fer gettin' tagather with family and friends and sharin' an evening of good food and good companionship. We're about ta celebrate Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving Day, is a traditional North American holiday, and is a form of harvest festival. The date and whereabouts of the first Thanksgiving celebration is a topic of modest contention. Though the earliest attested Thanksgiving celebration was on September 8, 1565 in what is now Saint Augustine, Florida[1], the traditional "first Thanksgiving" is venerated as having occurred at the site of Plymouth Plantation, in 1621.
Today, Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Thanksgiving dinner is held on this day, usually as a gathering of family members.

Now I can tell ya none of us were around in the year 1621 but we still love ta honor the tradition of gettin' tagather with everyone and breakin' bread....'n enjoyin' good fellowship too.

There's a song about gettin' there that we just love ta sing and we thought we would share it with ya all.......here goes......... if ya look close ya might see us and friends in the pictures....

Over the river

and thru the woods,

To grandmother's house we go;

The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh,

Thru the white and drifted snow, oh!

Well, we don't sing real well so here's a bit of the song sung by people who can carry a tune....

Song By The Juke Box Band

************************************

Now we would like ta wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving !!!!!!

Don't eat too much so ya get a tummy ache, but enjoy yer family, friends and good food !!!!

This country is goin' thru some hard times now and so is the rest of the world, but God has blessed us many times over and we're willin' ta share that with ya, all of ya !!!!!!

Terrier Troubles

Hi there....

We thought we'd show ya the good stuff first....then the stuff we didn't really want ya ta hear about...

There's Baby Parker again....lookin' like a little boy instead of such a baby. He has an argyle sweater on and chinos....just like his Daddy wears...what a big boy he's gettin' ta be....he's even crawlin' now...good boy....

Gram thought ya might want ta see her confused Christmas cactus....it's in full bloom right now and it isn't even Thanksgiving yet. Somethin' tells us it won't be bloomin' on Christmas...no siree....

It got as cold as a Witch's T_ t around here lately and the last time we left the cottage we had no idea it would be so cold so soon and we didn't drain the hot water tank and take other steps ta make sure it survived until our next visit. Since it was gettin' inta the teens at night we made a unscheduled trip up there and spent the night ta drain that tank.

There was a bit of snow there 'n Pap was shovelin' it and that makes Toby 'n me crazy. I tried ta re-arrange his ear a bit and it got pretty mangled up. I felt real bad after it happened but I was real mad when I did it and then it was too late. I hope Toby's ear heals real fast.......see him and his bandage.....

I was so upset I hurt Toby so bad that I curled up in the toybox at the cottage and went ta sleep.....my Mom always does that......not me. 'N if ya look closely at me ya might see that I have one of my ears plastered ta my head...... can ya believe that ???? I was scratchin' my ear so much it was bloody 'n that just made it more itchy....so I scratched some more....'n Gram put socks on me and I just took 'em off. So she super-glued my ear ta my head. Now I hope all my friends report her ta the Super-glue people cause I know that's not what yer supposed ta do with it at all.

It somehow came unglued taday so she glued it back again.....that's 2 crimes fer ya all ta report fer me.......

Gee, we're under the weather here....except fer my Mom....who has 2 good ears. So we hope ya all have a great weekend....'n we hope the weather warms up soon.
