An Ear of a Tale

Welllllllll Hello Ta All Ya Bloggers.....

Gee, we hope ya all had a really Happy Easter.....cause the peepers 'round here sure did. Now as fer us....that's another story.....

Yep, Gram and Pap had a whole bunch of people here fer an Easter ham with all the trimmin's and everythin' was soooooo GOOD....
*

After dinner, we heard a noise in the back yard.
*

Why, it sounded like a twig crackin' and grass crunchin' 'n... someone actually walkin' around in OUR GRASS !!!!!
*
So we were at the door right away...tellin' Gram that we wanted out ta see what was what. NO ONE..... 'n we mean NO ONE is permitted ta walk around in our grass....I tell ya....anyone who does is headed fer trouble, fer sure.....

Outside we saw the likes of this bugger just loungin' around in our yard actin' like it belonged ta him !!!!! Nerve.....nerve.....nerve !!!!!

We were hopin' some gentleman would come along ta pick the bugger up by the ears 'n tell 'em that he made a terrible mistake venturin' inta our yard on such a Holy Day........
Why, we didn't want ta hurt 'em cause we knew that someone just like 'em came that very mornin' ta bring baby Parker an Easter basket full of goodies.... ('n fer some reason Gram thought she got a picture of Parker 'n his basket but she musta been dreamin' cause there ain't none)

So we just sat 'n watched 'em in awe..... 'n wished he woulda brought us a special basket just like Parkers.

But he didn't bring us any swell Easter basket.......

Nope, he sure didn't.......

He EARED US !!!!!!

Do ya hear me !!!!!

He EARED US......

ALL OF US !!!!!!

Yep....There we were mortified that on such a Special day when everyone else was gettin' colored eggs... 'n chocolate candy... 'n little toys.....

We were gettin' BUNNY EARS !!!!!

YUCK!!!!

'N then we had ta sit there tryin' ta smile 'n look happy when we were just plain MISERABLE!!!!

Do ya see us SMILIN" in any of these pictures ???

DO YA ?????

I was tryin ta give Gram the evil eye so she would put away the camera and take off those silly ears...... but it didn't work....

Nope, she just kept snappin' away...... (too bad there aren't any pictures of baby Parker 'n Gram's pretty flowers)

My Mom says that when Gram goes ta bed tonight we're all going downstairs and find those ears 'n chew 'em all ta shreds.........

Here's hopin' none of ya suffered the same fate.....

Home Sweet Home.......Almost Anyway.......

Gee Guys....

We almost thought we would never see ya again....

'N never hear from ya either....

'N never be home again too......

But we are home and back ta usin' the good old DSL we have come ta love....

We wanted ta share a bit of all the stuff we did while we were in Florida in March.

We stayed at a community called Tanglewood in Sebring, Florida. There were lots of doggies there which meant peemail overload, but boy was it fun ta smell it all.

In the Park, they had a doggie run and while we were there twice, the second time we were the only doggies runnin' around in there. The place was full of sand and even though it was sand it made us really dirty.

Here we are runnin' around chasin' the ball......

If ya click on any of the pictures, ya can biggify 'em....

Ya know we got really hot runnin' around like that.....

See how dirty Mom got in the sand ????
*************************************
We got ta be in our exercise pen in the front of the place we were stayin' and observe all the people goin' by. And on a hot day, Gram got out the hose and we got a pan 'o water ta cool off in. Look at silly Toby always bein' happy.....doofus.....

Toby was enjoyin' himself in the cool water....

My Mom got squirted with the hose 'n Gram tried but just couldn't catch 'er curlin' up in the pan like she always does.......

We got ta sit with Pap and relax after a hard day of people watchin'in the little house we were in........

Gram 'n Pap have some friends who are buildin 'a new house on Lake June in Lake Placid, Florida ....that's down the road from where we were stayin'.........

Gram got some nice scenery pictures of Lake June.......................

This picture is of the yard next door ta where the new house is goin'.... ya ever see grass so green ???

And more of Lake June. Gram's friends are gonna love the view from their lanai.......

This is what the house looks like under construction......

'N there was a circus guy walkin' on stilts puttin' tape 'n joint compound on the wallboard in the new house. Why, we wondered when he was goin' back ta the circus.....

Ain't he funny lookin' ????

After spendin' a whole month there, we headed back ta Pittsburgh. We stayed 2 nights in motels along the way. 'N the motels had special bedspread fer us ta lay on. Ain't they nice people....motel people ????

Mom was relaxin' in the second motel....they sure have nice beds.....

As ya can see, all that travelin' was a bit tirin' 'n so we're taking some time ta get used ta bein' back home and in the colder weather. That sunshine and those warm temperatures were sure nice ta enjoy...

But it's good ta be home again too. We'll try ta catch up on what ya all have been doin' as soon as we ge caught up on all the stuff that was waitin' fer us when we got back.

We're sure gonna miss Florida but Gram says we're goin' back next winter and fer a long visit next time.....

No Fun Fer the Furries

Hello Blogland.....

Bet ya thought we fell off the edge of the earth...didn't ya???? What Gram ??? The earth doesn't have an edge ta it ??? Oops.....sorry.....

Well, bet ya thought we went inta hibernation, didn't ya ??? Well, we shoulda gone inta hibernation.....cause it's been cold as a witch's noochie 'round here fer sure.......

Nothin' but cold 'n snow.....'n wind too.....

But we got all excited over the weekend cause we heard there was goin' ta be a party.

Yep, a birthday party....'n we love those.....cause it means cake 'n ice cream.....'n silly hats too....

But most of all it means FUN........FUN........FUN......!!!!!

So we started tryin' ta make sure we were invited ta the party cause it wasn't at our house....it was at bruver Scott's......

Mom was doin' tricks ta make sure she could go.....

Why, she was even beggin' ta get some of that yummy cake......

Toby was layin' down too...ta make sure he could go....cause he just loves food.....any kinda food.....so he REALLY wanted ta GO !!!!!

He's learnin' ta sit up too and he was practicin' so he'd get some cake..........

But my Mom got all bummed out when she heard that we weren't allowed ta go at all....

Nope, we had ta stay home....this was a people party fer baby Parker cause on February 18, he was one year old......

The party was on Sunday the 22nd cause then the big people didn't have ta go ta work......

Would ya look at that cake that we didn't get ta taste !!!!!!!! Why, that looks like Horton Who Heard a Hoo.....silly blue elephant......

Then cause 1st birthdays are special, Parker got a little cake all fer himself. Can ya imagine ????

What would he do with a cake all ta himself....that shoulda been fer us........

He got put inta a booster seat so everyone could watch 'em try ta eat his special cake......

Now look at what a mess Parker makes with his special cake.....why he's eatin' it with his paws and everyone knows yer not supposed ta do that.......nope we would never do that.......

I guess that's what birthday boys are supposed ta do with special cakes cause none of the big people seemed ta be upset with all that mess.......

'N there's the birthday boy with his Dad and Great Gram.......

Put 'em in the bath tub right away......!!!!!!

Well, back at the ranch........we just want ta say we're sorry we haven't been around lately. Gram said the computer was hurtin' our eyes 'n we needed a bit of a rest......
*
'N on Friday we're leavin' fer Florida.....yep...all of us.....'n Gram 'n Pap too.
*
We said we'd take 'em along fer a bit of a vacation.
*
It's 1,000+ miles from here so we have a 3 day trip ahead of us......'n Toby gets car sick.....
*
We'll make him sit in the trunk........

We'll try ta visit ya all when we can, but we're hopin' ta have Fun......Fun.......Fun.....while we're in the Sunshine state.........

Congratulations to the Pittsburgh Steelers

Hello out there all across this country and the world...

Gram takes over the blog today and tries to capture some of the pride and excitement she feels being a part of the City of Pittsburgh and part of the Steeler Nation.

Last night the Pittsburgh Steelers won Super Bowl XLIII by prevailing over the Arizona Cardinals. What a game it was !!!! While my words pale in comparison to those of professionals, I tried to describe some of the feelings I had while watching our Home Team become the victors in the Super Bowl and go on to win their 6th Super Bowl Game and Lombardi Trophy.

Six Lombardi trophies will now have a home in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Santonio Holmes celebrates after his 4th quarter touchdown....giving the Steelers the win.
Big Ben...our quarterback....
James Harrison running for 100 yards right before the halftime after intercepting a Cardinal pass.
Our Pittsburgh Steelers and the Black and Gold......

Super Bowl XLIII
By Nancy Johanson

In Super bowls and football,
You can't keep those Steelers down.
In Pittsburgh, home of champions,
In Pittsburgh, my home town.

The Super Bowl on February one
In the year of two thousand nine,
Will go down in the record books,
As the Super Bowl for all time.

The Steelers fought the Cardinals,
And the Cardinals fought right back.
And no one knew the winner,
Until the final ground attack.

We take our hats off to Big Ben
And to James Harrison for his play.
His interception and hundred yard TD.
Made the fans all scream "Horray' !!!

The Cardinals played an awesome game
In the 4th quarter they pulled ahead.
With less than 3 minutes on the clock,
They thought they'd put it all to bed.

But as Coach Tomlin pointed out.
Sixty minutes make a football game.
And though it seemed the cause was lost.
In the end, the Steeler's overcame.

With only seconds ticking on the clock.
And Big Ben throwing down the field.
Santonio Holmes snagged the final pass.
And the game outcome was sealed.

He reached high in the end zone.
Toes touching to the ground.
With determined will and mighty skill.
Why, that lead just turned around.

Heads were shaking left and right.
The Steelers pulled off quite a win.
Final score Steelers 27 Cardinals 23.
Let the celebrations now begin.

With six Lombardi trophies,
We stand in speechless admiration.
Of the players and the faithful fans,
All across the Steeler nation !!!

And while we're here in Pittsburgh,
The Steeler Nation breaks the mold.
It's members span this big wide world,
To support the Black and Gold !!!

I just want to extend my congratulations to the City of Pittsburgh, to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Rooney family and to all the fans in the Steeler Nation !!!

Go Black and Gold !!!!

A Doggin' Bloggin' Get Together....Ta Talk About Poetic Weather.....

Hello ta all......

Now if ya think that winter's nice....
.
Just take a look at all the ice.....

That came ta visit us taday.
And stuck around until mid-day......

The ice was just topped off with rain.
It sure made shoveling a pain.....

But it got all scraped off ya know.
Then all the rain turned inta snow
......

Then everythin' was soft 'n white.
Fluffy layers....so clean 'n bright......

It made us wet when we went out.
It's somethin' Gram could do without......

But it really makes ya stop 'n think.
As ya ponder at the kitchen sink......

How pretty it is...just take a look.....
Like pictures in an artist's book......

As long as yer all stayin' home.
Safe in yer observation dome......

See, we don't want ta run 'n hide....
We'll just watch it from inside......

Now that yer in our line of sight
We wish ya all a safe, warm night......

This is Dewey Dewster reportin' on the winter weather here in the Burgh.......
