The Best Laid Plans.........

Well.....hello ta all.....

We thought we were gonna stay at the cottage fer a week until election day 'n get a roof up over the front deck.........

Boy, were we wrong........ Pap went ta Tidioute on Tuesday ta buy some wood and we figured that we would get started on the roof by Thursday cause they were callin' fer some snow Tuesday night and Wednesday....... But nice weather on Thursday and Friday.

Well, we got snow all right...between 6 and 8 inches and it was wet 'n heavy and it brought down a ton of trees and the electric lines with 'em. Our power went out thru the night Tuesday and Wednesday it was still off and Thursday mornin' we decided ta empty the refrigerator before everythin' spoiled and head home. The power never came on until sometime Friday morning.

'N Toby was enjoyin' himself at the cottage too cause he gets ta run around like a nut there. Here he is lookin' like he owns the place.

The October Snow Storm

Before 'n After

We took a bunch of pictures before and after the storm so ya could see what we saw........

Now wasn't that a sight ta see ????? So we have ta go back up after we vote on Tuesday ta get that roof up.
**************************************************

Our Halloween Visitor

This is Parker's first Halloween and even though he didn't really know what Halloween was all about, he got dressed up anyway and stopped over ta show us what he looked like.

He was a turtle and ain't he a cute one ????? We would never look that cute all dressed up.

Aw, the age of innocence.....

Parker the turtle....our big bruver's little boy.......

******************************************************************
Action Heroes Fer Hire

But now before we left the cottage, me 'n Toby got ta tuggin' and Gram got ta videoin'..... Actually we were practicin' our growlin' just in case they ever need any action heroes that make growl noises real well. Tell us what ya think........

Bet ya were scared weren't ya ????? Now tell the truth...... those growl noises were perfect...... weren't they ?????? Gonna scare the pants off anyone who ventures by fer sure....yes siree.....
Yep, 'n my Mom had ta come over ta make sure her little boy child didn't need any help or rescued either. A stare from her put the brakes on any further growlin' 'n tuggin' too.......

Well, we're headed back ta the cottage after the election so we hope this tides ya all over til we get back.

Parker is the most adorable turtle! Did he get candy in his trick-or-treat bag?
We sound pretty fierce when we're going at it too, but it's only for fun. Mom breaks it up when we get too rowdy!
Congratulations on your awards!

Oh guys,

Thank You so much for the Sharing the Love award and the Cool Blog award. I am really touched. Thank You.

Loved your photos of the before and after snow. It sure is pretty up there by your cottage. We had about four inches of snow here, but a town about 15 miles from us got 17 inches! Yikes. Better them than us.

Your growl video is very educational. You give an excellent demonstration of how to growl while playing tug of war. My mom put a 40-second video on my blog today. It took her all day to get it on there. She's not too good at this at times.

Little Parker is just precious. He is proof that humans can also have cute babies, not just us terriers. Hehehe...

Good luck when you go back up to your cottage. Hope that your humans finally get that roof over the front deck put up. Try to stay out of trouble. No more porky pines.

That's a whole lot of snow. We didn't get any and we're all the way up in Canada. It can sure look pretty, though, if you're inside looking out.

Oh that Parker is a real cutie! He's growing fast and he's an adorable butterfly.

We loved the video and especially how all the growling stopped the minute your mom showed up. Moms are all alike no matter how many legs they have, right?

Way to go on the awards, too. So I hope the best man wins tonight. We'll be glued to the TV all night, just like the rest of the world. Hope you get the roof up soon.

Bye for now.

xoxo

When I start tugging and growling at Josie, my doggie Mom wants to come join the action --- she leaves it to Human Mom to break it up!
I'm so jealous of that snow, I'm a snow lover deluxe, being Swedish on my daddy's side. I hope we actually GET some this winter.

I hope Parker got some candy, our 'real' turtle didn't even go trick-or-treating she's so lazy. Colder weather usually makes her sleepy anyway...

Hey yeah, my blog gets weird that way, being blank but that's 'cause Mom needs to clean up her PC every now and then. Lately all she does is come home and fall asleep on the couch, she's so stressed out at work. I hope next weekend's trip to Ohio with us will help her out, she needs some serious distraction. I hope work gets better for her soon or I'll never get to blog very much!

Love
Rudy
(glad Mary liked that video -- Mom saw her last week at class but didn't get to talk to her)

Oh, pee ess, about the Earthdogging -- Mom was worried about Josie not getting through the Senior tunnel 'til we went up to NJ last month for a training afternoon. Josie had time to check everything and figure out just what to do, and after that she was fine -- didn't take her long.
Mom sez take your mom back up for practice in the spring and do it 'til she gets it right, then maybe she'll remember at a test. Some dogs just take longer...

You too -- maybe the break over the winter will be enough to get you guys interested again. Mom tries not to train too much so we won't get so used to the rats (As if! I'd go for rats every day if I could, but that's just me..)

Well, we sure haven't had any snow here yet, and we'll probably never get THAT much at one time. That's quite a load of white stuff.

And yes, that Parker is one cool turtle-dude. :)

Hi Dewey!

I haven't seen snow...and I don't think that I would ever! But it looks very pretty in the pictures! So do you get to go out and run in the snow? It must be so soft under your paws!

Baby Parker is looking cute (and not at all scary!) Turtles! Are they scared of dogs, or are the dogs scared of them?! I need some quiet time to reflect upon a question of this gravity!

In the meantime, you take care of Toby and your mom (and also your Gram and Pap!) I am not sure whether you are at the cottage or at home...but I guess the snow would be everywhere...so get your paws wet, and have a great time!

Licks n wags,
Oorvi
