Well, here I am again.....

Hi Bloggies,

I tell ya that when ya are havin' fun, time certainly does fly. Here it is the middle of July and I haven't posted fer a long time. But I just want ya all ta know that I, Dewey Dewster, am still alive and well and guarding our little corner of the world.

Ya just never know if a robber or even worse, a vermin, will venture inta our yard or dare ta come inta our HOUSE. If they even TRY, I am ready fer 'em. Yes siree !!!

Update on My MOM

 

Well, in case ya fergot, last October and November, my Mom had 2 surgeries ta remove a cancerous tumor from 'er right hind leg. It was a fibrosarcoma, and the surgeon said that it would come back with a vengeance unless my Gram took my Mom fer many radiation treatments.

 

But Gram felt that at the age of 11, my Mom would not be able ta take all of those treatments (maybe 20 to 25 treatments) with a general anesthetic each time so she decided ta try a more natural approach. Gram found the Dr. Budwig Cancer Diet 'n she has been givin' my Mom the protocol from it now fer 8 months now.... along with some vitamins and supplements and good foods like Broccoli, a cancer fighting veggie. Yep, ya may snub yer nose up at broccoli but the 3 of us, we just love it. Gram loves it too.

 

Well, here ya can see yer yerself how my Mom looks taday.

 

 

What ? Ya say? Ya can't see my Mom?

 

Well, that sure is her just curled up in that little tub of water. She loves ta do that after we get hot playin' a game of ball. That is how she cools off.

Maybe ya can see 'er a little bit better here as she came up fer a bit of air.

We actually do have a bigger pool but Gram loves ta see Mom get into those little tubs.

See, here we are in our bigger pool.

There was a sprinkler on and we wanted ta get the falling water.

We sure love bein' up at the cottage but it has been a really hot few days here.

The weather all over has been hot as Hates, but we think relief is comin' this weekend.

 

See, My Mom looks pretty healthy, doesn't she?

Toby tried ta jump up ta heaven ta get that falling water.

This sure is a great way ta get cool on a hot day....and that well water is ice cold too.

Refreshin' I say..... absolutely refreshin' !!!!

A Special little visitor

 

Gram 'n Pap went up ta Erie, Pa. one day when we were up here at the cottage ta visit a friend who had moved inta a new neighborhood. This little guy was layin' out on their patio while Gram 'n Pap were there.

He's hidin' beside the grill and maybe he thinks that no one can see 'em......silly guy !

Here's a close up picture of the little fellow who seems ta have had a bit of an accident on the concrete. Guess he isn't house broken or patio broken either.

 

 But he sure was cute and looked so docile just restin' there. There have been 2 fawns in their neighborhood lately and they are just makin' everyone smile a lot when they see 'em.

Well, it sure has been nice ta visit with ya again but I really have ta get back ta work. I think I heard a noise out front and I want ta make sure both Gram 'n Pap are safe.

The job of a wire fox terrier is NEVER DONE !

 

It is an Important job and I do it well !

It's Fall 'n All ......And time fer ' Ball......and seein' houses big and Tall...

Hi Bloggies,

We actually do have a lot ta talk about lately but then we were havin' trouble with Gram....gettin' 'er  motivated ta get off 'er computer so we can use it.

Last night, I slipped 'er a sleepin ' pill and when I was sure that she was out of it, I booted up the old laptop. And here I am ta tell ya all about what we've been doin'.....

It's Fall 'n All 'n we just love the cooler weather, the beautiful colors, the fallin' leaves and bein' able ta play ball and search fer vermin without bein' so hot we can't breathe....

 

This is what our driveway looked like taday.....

 

 

 

 And ya might want ta see this one too....that's our butts walkin' down the road......our road.....our butts...and pretty cute butts at that....

 

And we played ball too.....Toby was plain tuckered out....he likes ta run around like a nut tryin' ta get the ball....

 

It is very unusual fer Toby ta get the ball......why?.....Cause I always want ta get the ball....

But it looks like he's gonna get the ball this time....

Then we were searchin' in Uncle Donny's woodpile fer vermin....

We know that they love ta hide in the wood ta keep warm....

My Mom was lookin' like crazy fer them vermin....she didn't find any either.....

And here's a view of our cottage thru the trees........Ain't it just peaceful 'n invitin' ?

Now let me tell ya that Grndma Judy got 'erself a new group of chickens this year....she wanted ta have somethin' that might alert the other chickens that there was danger around since she lost 10 of 'er chickens when a whole clan of foxes moved in next door......

Now the noise that those chickens make would drive me ta drink........water, of course.......

 

I think we told ya a while back that the very first oil well in the world was drilled in Titusville, Pa. in 1859. When that oil was flowin', there were a lot of oil barons around and they built big fancy houses in town. Gram loves ta drive by and look at 'em and she took some pictures of a few of those huge houses on East and West Main Street In Titusville.......

Can ya imagine what the gas bill is ta heat these places during the winter? But they sure look beautiful all painted up pretty and lookin' stately and distinguished........

Some day we'll take a walkin' tour and photograph them all.....

Hello ta all....

Well, I can hardly believe that we have not published a post since March.......

now that is unacceptable !!!!

Did ya like that "Unacceptable".....

that's a new word that I learned taday and it certainly fits the bill here ,

cause we really have NOT posted anythin' since March 2012.

The truth of the matter is that we have not really been doin' anything excitin' lately.

But since we are all here right now, I tackled Gram and told her to let me use the computer.

So here I am.....Dewey Dewster....

Filin' another report on what we have been doin' fer the past 3 months...

Well.....

Maybe there's not enough time ta tell ya EVERYTHING that we have been doin'......

But we can sure at least tell ya a little bit of what we have been doin' lately anyway....

So......here goes...... 

A couple weeks ago...

I hurt my left leg....or my left paw....can't remember which one....

So I had ta take ta my sick bed........

Yep, Gram....'n Pap too..... had ta carry me everywhere.......

up the steps....

down the steps.....

Why they even had ta put me in and pick me outta my sick bed.....

It took a few days before I felt better....

 

Then I got up outta my sick bed and got back ta bein' Dewey.....

Since I was feelin' better, Gram gave me a haircut....

I have ta remember that fer next time......

So I can stay in my sick bed longer and then avoid the haircut......

Things were pretty boring after that fer awhile....then....

We got ta come back ta the cottage....

When we go there.....we play ball.....lots of ball.....

When my Mom gets hot....she likes ta cool off.....

If the pool isn't out, she just plops in any bit of water available....

Ever wonder how my Mom gets inta that little pan?

So now ya know....amazin' isn't it ??????

Well, that's my Mom !!!!

Ya know....when we are up the cottage......the vermin are everywhere....

Ya just never know when ya might run inta one.....

There was this big black snake in the side yard and we felt so threatened....

That we had ta attack it.....

 Yep.....ya can see how scary the bugger was.....

Ya know....this is the same snake that we attacked once before....

He was pretty stupid ta come back again.....

Ya always have ta be on yer toes up here in the woods.....


Ya might enjoy my attempt at rippin' that monster apart.....

I think I got the best of 'em......yep.....fer sure.....

So I will leave ya with a snapshot of me restin' with MY BALL......

This is Dewey Dewster here......reportin' on what we three terriers have been doin' lately......

Caught in a Trap........a Mouse Trap.......

Hey there........all ya bloggies....

We know that we've been outta touch lately but we've been at the cottage again.....'n we still have dialup there but DSL is comin' soon so we may not always be apologizin' after every trip.

We're about to have earthdog tests again in August and so Gram 'n Pap thought we might like ta practice a bit. There are a lot of mice in the garage at the cottage....'n they'll do a peck 'o damage ta the tractor 'n ATVs if we let 'em stay.

So, Pap made a mouse trap that can catch the buggers......'n keep 'em alive til we can try ta catch 'em like we were real earthdogs. Heck....we are REAL EARTHDOGS !!!!!!

There's a ramp goin' up ta the rim of the 5 gallon bucket so the mice don't have ta jump up...they can just walk........there's a rod through the bucket with a soda can (here we really say "POP" but not everyone does so we'll call it soda taday).....'n on the soda can there's peanut butter spread all over cause mice just love peanut butter. The mice walk up the ramp......jump on the can ta get the peanut butter......the can spins....and the mouse lands down in the bottom of the bucket.....'n he can't get out.

Cool, isn't it ????? And it works swell too !!!!!

Pap caught mice fer us just about every day we were there.......'n this is what the little guys looked like before Pap let 'em loose.......

Now I tell ya that bugger ran inta the pipe and just wouldn't come out....'n we knew that he was in there.......'n we wanted him ta come out..........well, take a look.......

Pap got a stick 'n pushed the silly mouse outta the pipe and my Mom pounced on 'em. She shakes 'n shakes them til they don't move anymore.......me ????? I still thought the bugger was in the pipe.....that's why my Mom is a better earthdog than I am.

That bucket still had lots of mouse smells on it 'n I figured that I could rip it apart..........turns out that I couldn't but I still had fun...fun...fun....my Mom got a bit testy with Toby cause he was gettin' in her way........that bark of hers will drive ya nuts.....fer sure.....yes siree......

We have lots more ta show ya but ya would be bored if we put anymore in this post. But we did think ya might want ta see what the cottage looks like since Pap got the porch roof pretty much finished....there's still a bit more ta do but fer the most part it's done.....'n Gram has 'er porch swings up and workin' too......we sure love it.......( biggify it if ya like ta)

Our Week in the Country

Hi ta everyone....

We just got home after more than a week at the cottage and we always have a lot ta do there. More than anything we just love all the room we have ta run and play.
We always have ta have covers over the furniture cause we come right in from outside wet, dirty or both and get right up on it.

I got Gram ta take a lot of video so ya can see what we do there. There is one of us playing ball with crab apples, my Mom curlin' up in a little pan, of us swimmin' and of us playin' with some new stuffed snakes that Gram bought us. Then there's a slideshow of stills Gram took of us too.

We hope ya have the time ta see 'em all and that ya enjoy 'em.....

We sure had a good time makin' 'em....

First, we wanted ta show ya a bit of the pretty things up here and us playin' in our pool. 'N if ya wanted ta find out how Mom gets inta those a little pans...here it is...

Now we're back home after our stay in the woods....we'll be back again fer another visit later in the month....boy, we sure love it there....hope ya all had the chance ta have some fun too......

We're all waitin' fer some news on Jackson's tests taday...boy, sure hope that dogstar was bright enough......

We're Back from the Woods

Gee we missed you guys…….

it's Dewey and Toby reportin' from our perch at the front cottage window….. Gram could go outside on the deck here and catch us lookin’ out. I would like to tell ya, Gram needs a bit of help here cause she left all the camera stuff at the cottage so none of the video we took can get transferred into the computer cause all the camera parts are still at the cottage. Someone please help my Gram find her mind……

We were at our cottage for more than a week……it is in the woods outside of Titusville Pa.( where the worlds first oil well was drilled in 1859). We haven’t been there since early December…..so this was a good visit. Toby was never there before since he only came to live with us in February and boy did he have a good time. No fences and lots of yard and acres of woods…wow, he was impressed......
Now, I can tell ya that me and my Mom don’t do this, but Toby seemed to think chasing stones was great sport and when Pap threw the stones down the hill…. Toby ran after them and attacked ‘em........
Here’s Toby sittin on the deck with his dirty face….ya know ya get a pretty dirty face when ya pick up dirty stones in it……

Whenever we are here, we take long walks in the woods checkin’ on everyone else’s place to make sure no burglars have been around causin’ trouble. We checked out McCarthy’s place and found an old drain pipe layin’ on the ground. Me and Mom felt sure that a chipmunk or two was livin’ in there….and of course we needed to roust it out.

Oh yeah....check out my Mom...cause when we were walkin' through the woods she found a mud puddle and laid right in it....gettin' all dirty....now I tell ya, I never do that cause I know that means a bath is comin' and yep, she got one......

We attacked that pipe and ran around the yard with it to make sure any vermin were sufficiently terrified…..

We were at that pipe so much that we collapsed the ends of it……sure hope the McCarthy’s don’t need it anymore……..oh and we didn't see any vermin at all.....rats.....

Gee, we had a great time, but there’s only dialup service there and we couldn’t visit anyone’s blog usin’ that……so it’s good to be home………. and we'll be 'round to see what ya all have been up to while we were gone.
