I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream

Fer Ice Cream !!!!!!!
Greetings Ta All.....

Well, we've been visitin' lots of Blogs lately...'n when we visit we see lots of our Blog Friends bein' taken out fer Ice Cream. It looked so cool 'n refreshin', I tell ya....'n nice of the Peepers ta take everyone out ta have some goodies.....
Can ya believe that we have never been taken out fer Ice Cream? NEVER, NEVER, NEVER....

Well, truth be told Toby gets car sick still 'n he woulda just threw it all up after he ate it in the car on the way home. But Geez...is that a good reason?????
So everytime we visited a Blog where someone got taken out fer Ice Cream....we made sure Gram 'n Pap read all about it........we tried ta make 'em feel real bad that we were gettin' the short end of the stick in the "Treatin' Department".
So know what???? When Gram 'n Pap came home from the grocery store taday....they brought a carton of ice cream fer all of us ta have....right here....on our deck.....in our own bowls....'n not just the dregs from their bowl either..... Gee...it took 'em long enough ta treat us.........
Here's the Ice Cream carton before it even got opened.....we get the vanilla stuff all ta ourselves.....

Now look at the bowls with ice cream in it just fer us....these are our own eatin' dishes....'n we know who gets which one too.....

Bowls were lined up on the deck fer us ta see.....our mouths were waterin'...just thinkin' about gettin inta that ice cream......

Then we finally got ta eat it.......aaaaawwww, the cool, sweet, delicious taste of Ice Cream......ya gotta love the flavor, texture, 'n coolness of it fer sure.....

Mom first, then me....

Then Toby....

Wow, it was hot again here today...'n we sure are lucky ta get such a treat. But there are doggies 'n dog parents out in the mid-west who are havin' a bad time of it with tons of rain, 'n tornadoes, 'n flooding....so we're gonna say a little prayer tonight that everyone will be OK, that they are safe in their homes and that the rains and bad weather will end soon. Can ya say a prayer fer 'em too? Thanks guys....

Beating the Heat

Hey guys,

It has been super hot around here fer several days now. Has it been hot where ya are? We don't like the heat too much...it makes yer piggies hot.....'n it makes ya pant....'n it makes ya wanna rest a whole lot more.

What do ya when it gets too warm outside fer ya ta play?

We like ta cool off. I think ya already saw our swimming pool. Well now Pap set up a sprinkler fer us ta really get cooled off under. Do ya have one of those? Well, check it out.

If ya notice me 'n Toby are havin' a blast in that water. Well...more me than Toby, truth be told. I was just swallowin' a ton of that water....'n ya know what that means, don't ya? Whatever goes in, has gotta come out. Well, I tell ya, I peed up a storm after I swallowed all that water.

Did ya see my Mom drop her ball by the sprinkler? Know why she did that? If the ball gets full of doggie saliva, Gram 'n Pap won't throw it anymore. So Mom is smart enough ta rinse it off so that they will throw it fer her again.

Gee, I hope everyone that was hot the last few days was able ta stay cool or at least get cool fer a bit. We don't want no doggie, kittie or hamster heat stroke problems.

It's scheduled ta rain here tomorrow. Can ya believe we don't like ta get wet when it rains but we sure love the sprinkler. We don't like baths either. That's 'cause there's "GOOD WATER" 'n "BAD WATER". But we're sure ya already know all about that.

So stay cool 'n stay clean, so ya don't have ta get a BATH.

It arrived....It's here, the PACKAGE...Horray !!!!!

Wow, the day finally arrived....the brown truck came and delivered my International Goody Exchange package....was I excited.!!!!!!......They only ring the doorbell around here, leave the package and then drive away so I didn't get ta take a picture of the truck. But me 'n Pap went out ta see what they left fer me.

Yep, it was fer me alright. We took the box inside and me, Mom and Toby got into rippin' it apart. We were so happy ta see it.

We're movin' so fast the pictures all came out blurry but ya can tell we were really into gettin' in that box.

Gram 'n Pap had ta really work hard ta get the stuff away from us so ya could all see what was inside before we tore into it. A stuffie with an extra squeaker, 2 goody type balls ('n sturdy cause we chew 'em up) 3 bully sticks (guess I have ta share with Mom 'n Toby) 'n 2 bags of goodies....wow a treasure chest fer sure.... I grabbed the stuffie 'n took off runnin' ....
I squeaked him 'n squeaked him like crazy.....

Then Gram put some goodies in the ball 'n I wanted the ball instead......
Can ya tell how happy I am ?

Then there is the everlasting goodie ball.....'n I had ta have it too....

I figured if I went outside with the stuffie, no one else could see it.
Gram says I was bad cause I didn't want ta share with Mom 'n Toby...but I tell ya the box was addressed ta me....I saw it...my name, Dewey, on the front. Well, maybe I'll give Toby 'n Mom one of the bully sticks.....'n a ball after I rip it up some......

Gee Thanks, Toffee....ya sure are swell ta send all that stuff ta our house....yes siree.....ya sure are.... what a Pal ya are, Toffee, OMD......

Mailin' Abby's Package

Wow, today's the day we mail Abby's package fer the International Goodie Exchange 'n I was excited from the time I woke up this mornin' til we had the box all ready ta mail. So, Pap took me out ta look fer our mailman, Tom, who we know real well. His truck was parked across the street and I went over ta see if I could find 'em. I looked at the front of the truck.........

'N I looked at the back of the truck........Where was Tom? I couldn't see 'em anywhere....he musta been out deliverin' the mail ta all the houses around here. Didn't he know we had a special delivery package fer Abby ta mail?

So we got in the car 'n drove down ta the West View Post Office. I was really anxious ta get the box in the mail ta Abby 'cause I knew she'd be happy ta get it and excited too........

So me 'n Pap went in ta get the box mailed.

He figured he better pick me up 'cause they really don't allow doggies in the post office.

I told the postman at the counter that we was takin' part in the International Goodie Exchange 'n we needed ta get Abby's package mailed pronto. We sent it priority mail so she'd get it by Friday. When we told him we were sendin' the box ta a Doggie in New York 'n we were documentin' the mailin' fer our blog, he said we were nuts.....can ya imagine? Think we need ta mail 'em info about "Dogs With Blogs" so he'll understand?

Now there was this nice gentleman at the post office 'n he stopped ta pet me 'n tell me what a nice doggie I was ta sent a package off ta New York.
So Abby, look out fer yer package ta come via the local postman in the nice red, white 'n blue mail truck. 'N we hope yer postman is as nce as ours is so he brings it right ta ya pronto.......

Butler County Kennel Club Dog Show

Hello Everyone in Blogland,

Last Saturday, before we went ta the cottage, we visited a dog show at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds near New Castle, Pa. We've been to this show before and sadly this year there were not many wire fox terriers but there were 4 Lakeland terriers, so Gram wanted ta go and see what they looked like.
Not like Toby looks...I tell ya!

But once we got there Gram and Pap put us in the ex-pen so they didn't have ta hold our leads all the time. And then they could go in Altha's motorhome and visit a spell. We were happy just ta be there...cause there is pee mail everywhere when ya go ta an outdoor dog show. It's sniffin' maniac time, I tell ya.

Check out Toby above and then look at the Lakie in the show......big difference...but hey, we love 'em anyway. Gram got some pointers on how ta improve on his looks some. Now that's one of the Butterfield Airedales...we saw them at the Pittsburgh Show..pretty huh?
And Gram always gets a kick outta the expression on the face of the Bull Terriers. They always look like they're smilin'. Did ya remember seein' General Patton with one in the movie "Patton"?
And this was the terrier line-up...the Sealyham Terrier right next ta the Wire Fox terrier won the terrier group that day. Now those dogs are pretty rare today and the one breeder we talked ta a while back said she thought they might become extinct. Hope not, cause they're really cute.
Now this Great Dane is so big, it looks like the girl in the ring could climb right up on it. Ride 'em cowboy!!!!
And this was the big dog line up...ain't they spectacular?

Now, while we were waitin' fer the Best in Show competition ta end, we got ta meet a Burmese Mountain Dog. He was a mite intimidatin' cause he was so big 'n we're so little. But we went right up to check him out and make sure he was real 'n all.

He was a really nice fella and he let us go up 'n sniff him. Ain't he pretty?

Well, here we are back in the Ex-Pen with a little shade cover over it so we don't get sun burned. As usual Toby is smilin'.....cause he had a really good time....he just loved seein' all the dogs and all the people...and he hopes we come back again next year. We probably will.....

See ya all later. And we hope that ya all are well and enjoyin' some really nice weather.

Wiry licks,

Remotely Possible

Gee guys...don't ya just love technology ? We sure do...cause we are at the cottage again 'n that meant dialup service....yuck, yuck...there should be a law against it, I tell ya....a law. Anyway, that dialup service means no postin'....cause ya can't get anything done without usin' up an hour or so ta do it. So we used Blogger's new feature that let's ya set a future date fer yer post to appear. And voila', the post gets posted 'n yer not home. Neat, huh? Yeah, but it didn't work and so we have ta try and publish it remotely with this slow as molasses dialup. And of course, we keep gettin' an error sayin' Blogger could not be contacted.

Boy, I have been learnin' a lot the last few months. Makes my head hurt...it really does......crammin' all that information into that little space where my brain should be....it's gettin' mighty cramped in there.....

So here I am ta tell ya that we don't have a lot ta tell ya but we want ya ta know that we are thinkin' about ya and can't wait til we can get DSL up here.

Sharin'

Now, we like ta share......how about you? Do you like ta share? We especially like ta share somethin' that belongs ta someone else. That means when Gram is eatin' ice cream....we're waitin' ta get our SHARE....and when Pap is eatin' peanuts......we're waitin' ta get our SHARE and that's what is happenin' here......Pap is about ta share some of his peanuts with us. What we're doin' is called An-tic-i-pation....and it's makin' us wait for the goodies but we know they're comin'.

Cottage Excitement

Gram had a big ball in the car for us ta play with....actually there were 3 of 'em...but we only got one so far. You have ta be pretty fast ta get us in action, I tell ya......fast, fast, fast. And Gram, bein' old 'n all ain't fast enough ta catch all the action. So in the video, ya don't get ta see the BEFORE picture....ya only get ta see the AFTER.

That was the ball after me, Mom and Toby put a big hole in it....I got ta run around with it with Toby chasin' me. I run pretty fast, don't I? I love ta have fun....don't you?

We also have a lot of fun in our very own pool. Ya gotta have a pool ta wash off all the dog saliva on balls so ya can play more. For some reason Gram and Pap don't even want ta touch those slimey balls after we had 'em in our mouths for very long. Can't figure out why.......can you? And while we weren't playin' ball, we were tryin' out the pool ta make sure it is safe for the summer. You may notice that there is no lifeguard on duty.....humph........What do ya think 'bout our pool?

There's more ta come.......just wait 'n see........wow, maybe we should add these two scenes to our portfolio so we have a better chance of gettin 'hired as action heroes.....I have ta get our secretary right on that.......

We hope ya all had a really nice week. We'll be home soon so take care now.

Introduction to Earthdog

Hi everyone.......

Well, after tryin' out Earthdog last fall at the Butler County Doggie Fun Day we have been a bitin' at the bit waitin' ta try it out again and fer real this time. We missed the trainin' session last month cause by the time Gram thought to have a look see about it, the whole session was full. But they have practices every month and so we drove the 58 miles last Sunday to see if we can be Earthdogs someday.

That's Cookie and she was tellin' us all about scentin' out the prey. First, we tried ta find the rats that were in while plastic pipes at the edge of the woods. There were holes in the pipes so they could breath and caps on the ends so we couldn't get to 'em. Drat, drat......get that rat!!!!!!

That's me and Mom checkin' out our new terrier friend, Slider. He's a Welsh terrier and we were happy ta meet him. He was just waitin' ta get those rats cause one bit him on the nose last time he was here and he was madder than a hornet.

That's a bunch of the members waitin' ta get to the Junior Earthdog tunnels fer their turn at gettin' the rats.
Now that is the entry to the Junior Earthdog Tunnel....looks a mite intimidatin', doesn't it?

And that's what the tunnels look like from above. They are 30 feet long with 2 ninety degree turns before ya can get ta those rats.
This little guy didn't want ta go thru the whole tunnel so Linda is puttin' him in half-way through.
That's what happened ta me. But ya know what? I'll learn....yes siree, I will....now my Mom may be a different story....cause she wouldn't go in at all......ha, ha, ha, ha....me, Dewey Dewster, showin' up my Mom....takin' on Earthdog.....

And that's the crate of a dog with a lot of Earthdog ribbons....we are goin' ta try and get some of those fer ourselves.....yes we will. And in case yer wonderin' those are the 2 rats that were at the end of the tunnel.....problem is they are in the cage and ya can't get 'em even if ya get to 'em....no fair, I say....how about you?

We're goin' back next month fer the next practice.....then we'll see if my Mom can get into that tunnel. She sure wants ta get the rats...so we shall see.
