A Wonderful Sunday

Happy weekend ta ya all....

Well, the weekend is just about over but we had a great day taday, Sunday, at earthdog practice..... The weatherman was callin' fer rain and cooler temperatures and so when we left this morning, we watched those big black clouds hang over Pittsburgh.......

Here's the Mon River again from the movin' car as we passed thru the city on our way ta the country....

Ya gotta love those bridges, don't ya???? and the hills too and the water....but we just kept on goin'........

We got put in the X-pen so Gram and Pap could attend the earthdog club meetin'....'n talk ta some new friends they made....

I don't know if ya remember Slider, the Welsh terrier from our first earthdog post....but here he is again with a new little sister, Callie.....also a Welsh terrier....Slider is on the right. Callie is a real cutie pie.....'n if I wasn't so intent on gettin' those rats taday...I woulda checked 'er out more....since Lacie was mean ta us maybe Callie would be willin' ta have a date with me. I guess I need ta ask 'er Mom, Linda, first before I approach 'er.....but isn't she a sweet little thing????

'We get ta see 'em both again next week when we go back fer the tests....can't wait.......

Now we had a good practice taday and Gram got some good video so ya can see what we do at earthdog practice.....Here it is....

After we were finished practicin' Gram went around and took some video of all the activity goin' on and there was a bunch of it....have a look see.....

Gee wasn't that a wild Sunday ?????? Can ya tell everyone had FUN FUN FUN ?????

Oh, one more thing...Gram was shoppin' in the Mall and found a sort of stuffed Wire Fox Terrier in a store there....Wait til ya see it....

And she also made a new batch of clay dogs for the Earthdog auction...they got dropped off taday but this slideshow has pictures of the clay dogs and the new stuffed dog....

Boy, does that look like fun!! Thanks for the videos! I think that I could do that if we had it around here. I'd love to try it.

Best of luck, Asta Marie, in your competition. You, too, Dewey!! Does Toby do anything? If so, best of luck to him, too.

Asta Marie, you look terrific! You sure are a cutie. Now wonder Jake wants to date you. Keep us informed about that, will ya. We want to know everything. (But only tell us girls.)

Love and Koobuss Kisses,

Hey Dewey, Mon River looks kind of cool and the bridges too.As for Callie... a cutie for sure. Go get some advice from Chef fast pal before next weekend. Life is not all about chasing rats, I know I have heard Petey speak of chasing tail too (oh, do forgive and pardon me, Dewey, I don't mean your mother the lovely Asta Marie).

Tell Gram those clay dogs are wheelie lovely. How clever. That stuffie is sort of handsome too - not a patch on us of course but who coud improve on nature..

Wagging for you pal, Eric

Mom loves weiner dogs a whole lot. That whole earth dog thing looks like a lot of fun, but probably not good for a dog that is afraid of the dark.

Dear Asta Marie,

I thought I should get to know a bit more about you before we actually went on our first date, so I spent some time this morning rereading some of your posts and your profile.

First thing I discovered is that we are very close in age. You were born in October 2001 and I was born on January 1, 2002. So we belong to the same cohort!! I came from a puppy mill, though, so I hope not knowing who my folks were doesn't bother you.

Second, while I've never had an opportunity to go to ground in earthdog, I do admire your ratitude!! My brother is expert at crawling into and under low places -- like his secret hideaway under the coffee table -- but I'm more addicted to high places -- chairs, tables, etc.

And third, as I've been thinking about what we should do on our first date, it came to me: while our respective favorite teams -- the Cardinals and the Pirates -- often compete, there is nothing like a good ballgame, with hot dogs and soft pretzels, and cold drinks -- and lots of action for fun. It just so happens that the Cardinals are here in town for four games, playing the Florida Marlins who are contenders in your division.

Mom and Dogdad went to the first game last night and the heron-cam reported for us. They won, so the folks were very happy. As soon as we hear about Jackson and our tummies unknot, we'll show the game pictures. But I was wondering if you'd like to go to one of the three remaining games with me.

Hoping you'll say yes!!

Hello mates, not sure if I've stopped by before. I so enjoyed watching all your videos especially the swimming one with mom in the tub! You three look like you all get along so very well! What lucky terriers you are to have each other and your gram and gramps.

ARGH -- I want to do Earthdog again!! Mom says I'm useless at agility after I do Earthdog... didn't used to be that way. I could do the NJ Earthdog tests and then go the next day for agility in MD. Not any more! Mom says I'm a goofball after running around after rats in Master.
-- sad face --
However, I know a Scottie or two that's coming to your Earthdog test next weekend. If you see a lady named Mary with 'Jeep' or 'Drake' say hello! Maybe even my Norwich Terrier friend Pippin will come...Tell 'em Rudy sent you and wishes he could be there. One of those ladies in the videos looked familiar. Her name wasn't Sandy was it? sigh -- you have a great time. I'll be doing agility in Virginia close to home.
It's just not the same...

Love,
Rudy
p.s. I know the judges are nice guys! I've seen them in NJ at an Earthdog thingy.

Hi Dewey...this comment is for Ms. Asta Marie the pawlimpics swimming event bronze winner!

Asta Marie,

Congratulations! You look fantastic...I think you should have got two awards - one for the swimming event and another for gymnastics - I really don't know how you do it! It's magic!

Many many licks n wags to you:)

Love,
Oorvi

Dear Asta Marie,

Thanks for being so understanding.

Right now, I don't see any rain -- but this is South Florida and you never know. It will be really hot, though, that I can promise.

How about if I bring the umbrella and you bring your hat?

We'll have hot dogs and perhaps a soft pretzel, with a cold drink. They have ice cream too, I heard.

And catching balls at the game is a sport in itself, so you be ready!!! Some folks bring their own gloves.

I've asked our heron-cam to pick you up --he's a reliable fellow, remember he flew all the way to San Francisco with our folks -- and to be sure you get home safely. The game starts at 7:10.

And, uh, could you post a perty photo on your blog -- with or without hat -- so everyone will believe it's really you with me.

Jake
