A Bunch of Stuff Again.......Stay Awake.......

Happy Birthday Pittsburgh

Now here it is the first day of October....and isn't that grand ?????

In October of 2008, The City of Pittsburgh celebrates it's 250th Birthday. Lots of stuff happened here since Pittsburgh was founded and lots of stuff started here too. Someone was nice enough ta put together a little bit of the history of Pittsburgh. Of course, I, Dewey Dewster, was not even a thought back then as my Mom, Dad and Grandad were not even around. But that doesn't mean that I don't think that Pittsburgh is a real special place ta live, cause it sure is....yes siree...... Now a Pittsburgher mighta been responsible fer the world's first oil well, but it was drilled in Titusville, Pa. where our cottage is. If ya have time, check out all the neat stuff that began right here.......

Walkin'

Now we usually go fer a walk every evening. We know what time we're supposed ta go and we get excited when that time rolls around. Toby just can't seem ta settle down when he walks. He acts like a real nut fer sure....thought ya might want ta see 'em in action.....

Now here ya see Toby weavin in and out.... back and forth. Why he takes twice as many step as we do takin' the same route. No wonder he's so tired when we get back home.....'N then there's us....see how nice we walk fer Gram?

Yep, Toby needs some professional help....yes siree....but we don't know where ta get it fer him.....ya have any ideas ????? Cryin'.. walkin' crazy... weavin'.... nutty Toby.......

It's there, just click on it........

Autobiography Week

Ya probably already know all about it, but just in case ya don't.....we would like ta mention that the week of October 20 will be autobiography week.

Put yer thinkin' caps on 'n try ta remember why ya are where ya are taday and how ya got there. Yep, tell us all about yerself.

Chef and Abby were nice enough ta put this together so don't disappoint 'em by not postin' yer information.

The link is on the side of our blog fer the website. But there's a little kink in the armour cause the website can't have a million authors and so ya have ta email the info and pictures ta Abby or Chef ta have everythin' posted.

1. Visit the Autobiography Week site for details and leave a comment there letting us know you want to participate.

2. Email your stories (500 words or less) and pics if you have any (two per entry max.) to either of Chef or Abby by October 15th, at: chef.boxer@yahoo.ca or crabbyabby5827@yahoo.com, and we'll paste your entry to the Autobiography Week site.

**************************************************************

Another Big Thank You

Thanks ta Sunny, Scooter 'n Jamie who had a really cool idea fer passin' awards on ta others..... Ya could go ta their blog 'n pick out which award ya wanted and put it up on yer blog. Now how cool is that?

We kinda liked the Golden Paw Award so we snatched it fer ourselves....'n want ta say thank ya thank ya ta Sunny Scooter and Jamie fer thinkin' of us.

Now anyone who visits our blog and has a fondness fer the Golden Paw Award is welcome ta display it on their blog with our regards. Pretty ....isn't it ???????

**********************************************
Now that was another heap of stuff ta report......
but I just wanna say......

This is Dewey Dewster reportin' on

Pgh's Birthday....

Dewey...I am back! (I hope so...)

Thanks for the history bit. 250 years is a long-long time...isn't it?

How's it that Toby doesn't walk along with you and Asta Marie (I couldn't see the videos - this is a very slow connection that I am using...d-rat!)

I'd love to participate in the autobiography week. I have put a sticky in my box. As I hope to be more blogactive in October, it shouldn't be a problem at all:)

Thanks for the video about Pittsburgh. What an interesting history... so my Mama gets Saturday afternoons off, because of Westinghouse in Pittsburgh?? Thanks!

It looks like Toby's in a bit of a hurry to get somewhere. Or else he forgot how to heel. Ah, but he's so precious - you all are!

HI Guys,

It's me, Koobuss. I loved all your videos. The Pittsburgh one was great. Very interesting and informative. I also liked the ones of you guys walking. They tell me that my predecessor, Koobus III, walked like Toby. He made the neatest zig-zag lines in the snow. It was also like he got two or three walks instead of one. Hehe. What a goof.

Also, thanks for the info about Autobiography Week and the Gold Paw Award. I will check those out.

Love and Koobuss Kisses,
Koobie

pee ess Have a good time up in the woods again, and try not to tangle with any more porkypines.

Happy Birthday to US!!!!!!!!!!!!

We loved that video from the History Center!!!! Even Mumsie the regular Pgh. Buff had NO idea how much stuff was invented here or done first here!!!!!

When she cleaned out our Grandads's house in 2002 she found TONS of stuff that probably should go to the Heinz Center cuz she figures her kids aren't going to care a lot bout it...

We have photographs from opening day of the Liberty Tubes...vintage 1928 from the sounds of the video!!

We have a Post Gazette from Pgh. Bicentenial...1958...the best part of that article was the predictions for 2008...flyin' saucers over the Point etc etc. Mumsie wrote to the Trib Review to try to get them to dig that article up and republish it...it's a riot!

We love our city...Someplace Special, HUH!!!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!

Love, Scruff, Lac and B.stan!

Pee Ess...that Toby walks like our last Foxy...he'll stop tuggin' when he's bout ten!

Hey Dewey,
We don't know if you read our blog through a reader or not. Apparently not all posts go through, we dunno. If you are confused, go to the blog and read the series. As stand alone entries, they would be confusing.
That's really all we know to tell you!

Hey guys,
Now that I've stopped squirming at the pictures of your awful attack I wanted to say a bit late I admit glad you are doing ok.
I'll have to let Grandma know it's Pittsburgh's 250th anniversary. Since her moms from there I'm sure she'd love to know that. Anyways have a good weekend.

Hi Dewey,

So...you are at the cottage again:) Tell your mom not to kill snakes...they might be poisonous...leave them alone and they won't bother you.

CNN is watched everywhere (I guess also on the spaceships!) Glad you liked the Kenopian debate too...I know it isn't as humorous as the actual debate (!) but then dogs are serious people...right?

When are you coming back to your smarter connection?

Hey Dewey are you going to the Montgomery Earthdog test in NJ on Monday? I guess it's a long haul for you so maybe I won't see you there. I've been practicing by digging up the yard and barking at the rats in the house, but if Mom doesn't get our practice tunnels out of the basement I can't promise her anything. We're going up there Columbus Day also for some practice and then maybe November 1st for the last ED test of the season there. We haven't been to NJ Earthdogging since the summer.

Later!
Love,
Rudy

Dewster!

Oh yes my date was the best --- I hit a home run twice in 2 dates. She was cute too! That was almost exactly a month ago, too. One more month and we should be hearing the pitty pat of little puppy feet! Josie's getting close to being in season but Mom says I can't have a date with her, they've got another lady for me this spring named Belle. oooh! Can't wait!

Mom got out the tunnels just for me this afternoon and we worked on my marking and staying at the rats for 90 seconds. It was cool outside so I stayed in -- if it's hot it's hard to breathe in that tunnel! Mom promised I could practice again tomorrow night. Just me, not anybody else! Josie, Emmy, and Clancy are jealous.

That Hershey antique car 'n flea market sounds like fun. Mom and Dennis would love it but then I'd miss out on the doggie fun --shhh I won't tell them if you won't!

I'll let you know how it goes on Monday --- I'm doing both Master and Senior so I'll have a lot of fun!

Wow you Pittsburghers are a brainy bunch. Next time I'm in the 2 leggededs Jeep,on my way to play bingo via a pit stop at Macdonalds (large mac with a dollop of heinz ketchup and a banana split to follow) I will be reminded of you Dewey pal. It looks a very interesting city. The 2 leggededs want to go there (without me) I need to put a stop to that. But Happy Birthday Pittsburgh!!

The Golden Paw is kind of James Bond for dogs don't you think? Nice award, well done pals.

And Toby wigging his wag there, .. um, did he have one too many of Lacie's smoothies at lunchtime?!!

Congrats on your awards, Dewey and happy barkday, Pittsburgh! :)

We've heard a lots of good things abour your home town. We gotta go and visit one day!

Thank you for sharing a very important info about the cause of Ella's death. You never know what causes such a tragedy. It's sad and we cried when we read it. Mom just checked our kitchen if there is any potential stuff which might be trouble.

Have a great evening!
