Back in the Sunshine State

Hi ya Bloggies,

 

I, Dewey Dewster, am here ta tell ya that we are back in the Sunshine State

enjoyin' the delightful weather

and we sure are happy that we are not shiverin' back home

and wadin' thru a ton of snow......cause it sure is cold back home.

 

 

I love ta relax in the patio room where it is nice and warm.

 

 

Me 'n Toby guard the perimeter of the house from our great vantage point by the window.

Ya know geckos are always tryin' ta get inta our house

and I have ta make sure that they stay out!
 

 

Big silly birds walk in the middle of the road here

and they take their good ole time movin' outta the way too!
 

Doggies ride around in sports cars here....

.'n they sit in the seat just like they own the car!

Ya get ta see beautiful skies and lots of water cause there are a ton of lakes in this part of Florida......

.'n one is prettier than the one ya saw before it.....

that is Lake June right after sunset.

And this is on a canal leadin' out ta Lake Istokpoga

where more than 1,000 bass over 8 pounds were caught in less than a year.

Lake Istokpoga is one of the largest lakes in South Florida.

I wanted ta eat one of those bass fer dinner but I wasn't offered any.

 

Ya have ta love those angry skies framed with trees draped in Spanish Moss.

 

There's somethin' about the air here too......it's fresh and clean .....

 

Well, me 'n Toby are back on the job watchin' out fer vermin

 

and catchin' a few more rays of the sun.

 

Remind me ta tell ya about all that has been happenin' ta my Mom lately

 

......that's somethin' fer me ta save fer later....cause it is a LONG story.....

 

In the meantime.......wherever ya are........stay safe........stay warm......

 

'n stay dry.....cause baths are fer those who can't run 'n hide fast enough.......

Merry Christmas Ta All !!!!!

I know that we have been absent more than we have been present.... 'n bloggin'.... but such is the nature of the beast.

Before the year 2012 ends, we would like to wish all of ya a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year too.

May the year 2013 be a great year fer all......lord knows that we weren't even supposed ta be here if ya can believe those Mayans who said the world was ta end on December 21, 2012 or was it December 20? Either way the world is still around 'n so are we.....

Much ta our dismay, Gram forced us ta wear those silly reindeer antlers yet again.........I swear that I'm gonna chew them up before next Christmas........fer sure......

Until then feast yer peepers on this horrible picture that Gram forced us ta pose fer and then doctored up til it looks like a horror story.

Only silly Toby is smilin'.......my Mom is mad as a Hatter......'n me.....

Well......I'm not even goin' ta look at Gram 'n that silly flash beastie.......

Who are the Grouchy Gremlins ? Well I ,Dewey Dewster will tell ya....

Cameo: He is the one that uses those 0s and 1s and equations that make my head hurt ta create the dances that ya can see in the Hypnotoy. He's a genius in a Gremlin disguise.....don't let those pointy ears fool ya....although he does look a bit grouchy.

Mercury: Now Mercury is the best graphic artist that ya can find. Why she can draw anythin'....even me. See that clock on my sidebar? Not the round blue one....scroll down a bit....look fer the handsome one. Mercury drew that and Cameo made it work. And who is that handsome devil whose picture is on that clock.? Why That's Dewey Dewster....me.....intelligent, handsome, distinguished and all terrier.

Oorvi: She's the middle Gremlin. Yep, my friend, Oorvi. Oorvi is the management Guru behind the Gremlin Team and she is also a Gremlin too. If ya don't keep the team motivated, ya can't get anythin' done.....

Gordie: He's a wise but somewhat crabby owl and ya can see him if ya visit the back room of The Hypnotoy.

Nifty: Yep, Nifty is a mouse that lives in the back room and pops out now and again ta remind ya that Gordie is crabby. I must point out here that she is also a vermin but I won't chase 'er....I promise.

It's Fall 'n All ......And time fer ' Ball......and seein' houses big and Tall...

Hi Bloggies,

We actually do have a lot ta talk about lately but then we were havin' trouble with Gram....gettin' 'er  motivated ta get off 'er computer so we can use it.

Last night, I slipped 'er a sleepin ' pill and when I was sure that she was out of it, I booted up the old laptop. And here I am ta tell ya all about what we've been doin'.....

It's Fall 'n All 'n we just love the cooler weather, the beautiful colors, the fallin' leaves and bein' able ta play ball and search fer vermin without bein' so hot we can't breathe....

 

This is what our driveway looked like taday.....

 

 

 

 And ya might want ta see this one too....that's our butts walkin' down the road......our road.....our butts...and pretty cute butts at that....

 

And we played ball too.....Toby was plain tuckered out....he likes ta run around like a nut tryin' ta get the ball....

 

It is very unusual fer Toby ta get the ball......why?.....Cause I always want ta get the ball....

But it looks like he's gonna get the ball this time....

Then we were searchin' in Uncle Donny's woodpile fer vermin....

We know that they love ta hide in the wood ta keep warm....

My Mom was lookin' like crazy fer them vermin....she didn't find any either.....

And here's a view of our cottage thru the trees........Ain't it just peaceful 'n invitin' ?

Now let me tell ya that Grndma Judy got 'erself a new group of chickens this year....she wanted ta have somethin' that might alert the other chickens that there was danger around since she lost 10 of 'er chickens when a whole clan of foxes moved in next door......

Now the noise that those chickens make would drive me ta drink........water, of course.......

 

I think we told ya a while back that the very first oil well in the world was drilled in Titusville, Pa. in 1859. When that oil was flowin', there were a lot of oil barons around and they built big fancy houses in town. Gram loves ta drive by and look at 'em and she took some pictures of a few of those huge houses on East and West Main Street In Titusville.......

Can ya imagine what the gas bill is ta heat these places during the winter? But they sure look beautiful all painted up pretty and lookin' stately and distinguished........

Some day we'll take a walkin' tour and photograph them all.....

A Terrier Tale

Hi ya Bloggies,

I tell ya that I never get a chance ta post anymore but part of that problem is

 because nothin' special has been happenin' around here.

While everyone doggie in THIS HOUSE is sane, 

I can't say as much fer my father, Fred.....my fur father, that is....

and my looney brother, George. 

They both live with my hooman brother Scott and his family.....

far , far away.....just the way we like it. 

Ya don't want any more competition than ya can handle, do ya? 

Nope....didn't think so......but then neither do we......

Anyway....Gram 'n Pap were over ta the nutty terriers place recently 

and they took a few pictures so we could see what they were up ta. 

Nothin' interestin' I can truthfully say, but I'll show the pictures ta ya anyway.

There's a swingset in the backyard fer the kids....

really fer kids only....but ya know all about terriers....don't ya....

they always think everythin' is fer them too.

 So George was up in the little landing by the slide just lookin' silly.....

Silly George...checkin' out his domain....

'N he was a showin' off too..... lookin' around like he owns the place......

yep, he really is my brother....but please DO NOT TELL ANYONE ELSE, PLEASE.....

George..... Lookin' like he doesn't have a care in the world...

Then George got the brilliant idea ta give the slide a try..... 

so he moved over ta the top of the slide......

Ya all know how Dads can be....don't ya.....

Bossy.....very Bossy........indeed.....

Ah ha........Fred....did not want George ta go down the slide......no siree

 

 So Fred decided ta try gettin' at George from BELOW..

I'm comin' ta get ya, Boy....do ya hear me? 

 

 

 

I may be older than ya are, but I can still whip yer chops.....

Look out cause here I come....ready or not.......

Sheesh....this slide is pretty slippery fer terrier feet.....

I swear, I'll get ya later, George....

Yes siree, I will......

The slippery slide saved the day fer my silly brother, George.....

Geez....No posts since March......So Sorry !!!!

Hello ta all....

Well, I can hardly believe that we have not published a post since March.......

now that is unacceptable !!!!

Did ya like that "Unacceptable".....

that's a new word that I learned taday and it certainly fits the bill here ,

cause we really have NOT posted anythin' since March 2012.

The truth of the matter is that we have not really been doin' anything excitin' lately.

But since we are all here right now, I tackled Gram and told her to let me use the computer.

So here I am.....Dewey Dewster....

Filin' another report on what we have been doin' fer the past 3 months...

Well.....

Maybe there's not enough time ta tell ya EVERYTHING that we have been doin'......

But we can sure at least tell ya a little bit of what we have been doin' lately anyway....

So......here goes...... 

A couple weeks ago...

I hurt my left leg....or my left paw....can't remember which one....

So I had ta take ta my sick bed........

Yep, Gram....'n Pap too..... had ta carry me everywhere.......

up the steps....

down the steps.....

Why they even had ta put me in and pick me outta my sick bed.....

It took a few days before I felt better....

 

Then I got up outta my sick bed and got back ta bein' Dewey.....

Since I was feelin' better, Gram gave me a haircut....

I have ta remember that fer next time......

So I can stay in my sick bed longer and then avoid the haircut......

Things were pretty boring after that fer awhile....then....

We got ta come back ta the cottage....

When we go there.....we play ball.....lots of ball.....

When my Mom gets hot....she likes ta cool off.....

If the pool isn't out, she just plops in any bit of water available....

Ever wonder how my Mom gets inta that little pan?

Here's how....



So now ya know....amazin' isn't it ??????

Well, that's my Mom !!!!

Ya know....when we are up the cottage......the vermin are everywhere....

Ya just never know when ya might run inta one.....

There was this big black snake in the side yard and we felt so threatened....

That we had ta attack it.....

 Yep.....ya can see how scary the bugger was.....

Ya know....this is the same snake that we attacked once before....

He was pretty stupid ta come back again.....

Ya always have ta be on yer toes up here in the woods.....


Ya might enjoy my attempt at rippin' that monster apart.....

I think I got the best of 'em......yep.....fer sure.....

So I will leave ya with a snapshot of me restin' with MY BALL......
